1.1 Information You Provide Directly
- Account Credentials: When you sign up or log in using Google OAuth or email authentication, we receive your name, email address, and profile avatar URL solely to identify and authenticate your account.
- Travel Logs & Route Data: Flight legs, departure/arrival airports, dates, transport modes (flight, rail, road, cruise), country visit stamps, personal notes, and travel journal entries you create.
- Custom Profile Information: Traveler bio, home city origin, and preferences (such as miles vs. kilometers, date formats, and globe appearance settings).
1.2 Information Collected Automatically
- Device & Usage Data: Technical information about your device, browser type, operating system (iOS, Android, macOS, Windows), screen resolution, app version, language preference, and basic diagnostic telemetry to ensure 3D WebGL performance.
- Local Device Storage: We use browser
localStorage and native device storage to cache offline journeys, custom settings, and theme preferences for rapid loading even without an active internet connection.
2. How We Use Your Information
We use the collected information for the following legitimate purposes:
- To calculate your travel analytics, cumulative distance traveled, Earth laps, and visited country milestones.
- To synchronize your personal expeditions securely across your phone, tablet, and desktop devices.
- To provide, operate, debug, optimize, and maintain the 3D globe visualization and rendering engine.
- To respond to your feedback, bug reports, and customer support inquiries.
- To detect and prevent fraudulent use, spam, or security violations.
3. Advertising & Analytics Disclosures
To support the development and maintenance of our free features, we may display advertisements via Google AdMob on mobile apps and Google AdSense on the web:
- Ad Serving Technologies: Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies, mobile advertising identifiers (such as Apple IDFA or Google GAID subject to user permissions), or similar technologies to serve ads based on prior visits or general geographic region.
- Personalized Ads & Consent: In applicable jurisdictions (including the European Economic Area, UK, and California), we present consent mechanisms (Consent Management Platforms / ATT prompts) allowing you to opt out of personalized ads or adjust ad tracking preferences.
- Opting Out: You may opt out of personalized advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings or utilizing platform-level controls (e.g. "Ask App Not to Track" on iOS or "Opt out of Ads Personalization" on Android).
4. Third-Party Authentication & Google API Data
When you log in via Google Sign-In, MyBreadcrumbs accesses only basic profile information (email, name, and profile picture avatar) strictly authorized by you. We do NOT access your Google Drive, Gmail, contacts, calendar, or any other sensitive scopes. Our use of information received from Google APIs adheres strictly to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
5. Data Storage, Security & Retention
Your cloud data is hosted on enterprise-grade PostgreSQL infrastructure provided by Supabase, secured with encrypted transit (TLS/HTTPS) and protected by Row-Level Security (RLS) policies. Only your authenticated user account can access or modify your trips.
We retain your data for as long as your account remains active. If you delete your account, all associated personal data and travel logs are permanently purged from our primary databases.
6. Your Privacy Rights & Data Controls
You have full ownership and sovereignty over your travel data:
- 1-Click JSON Data Export: You can export a full JSON archive of your entire travel history at any time directly from the in-app Settings menu.
- Immediate Account Deletion: You can permanently delete your account and all associated cloud data directly inside the app with immediate effect.
- GDPR (EEA & UK Users): You have the right to access, rectify, erase, restrict processing of, and object to the processing of your personal data, as well as the right to data portability.
- CCPA / CPRA (California Residents): You have the right to know what personal information is collected, request deletion, and opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information. We do not sell your personal information.
7. Children's Privacy (COPPA Compliance)
MyBreadcrumbs is not directed to children under 13 years of age (or under 16 in certain jurisdictions), and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If we become aware that a child has provided us with personal information without parental consent, we will take immediate steps to delete such data.
8. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices or applicable legal requirements. We will post the revised policy on this page with an updated "Last Updated" date.
